Have you been asking this question lately, “should I rebrand my business?” It’s not a small task to complete a rebrand for your business. You’ll have to look at every aspect, including: website, email templates, social media, and print materials. If you’re getting that nagging feeling that you need to rebrand I’ve got a few questions to help you decide if this is something you need to start planning on.
1) HOW ARE SALES?
Are your sales increasing, decreasing, or plateau? If they have decreased then a rebrand could give your brand a new energy and get your past, current, and future customers excited! If your sales are steadily increasing, then this would be a con in your rebranding list. It may not be worth the risk of rocking the boat when things are going so well.
2) ARE YOU REACHING YOUR TARGET AUDIENCE?
Those clients and customers that are a dream to work with, and who you want to cater to so they return over and over again - do you have those? If you do, stay where you are! If you’re not, it may be a sign that you need to rebrand. Look at your marketing and networking efforts first though, that could be the problem and not the brand itself. If you know that your current branding isn’t going to reach your dream customers, then it may be time to start saving your pennies for a rebrand.
3) HAS YOUR TARGET AUDIENCE CHANGED?
Are you no longer going after the same audience you once were? Perhaps you found a niche that really works for you and keeps you motivated and inspired. It may be time to rebrand in order to reach those niche customers.
4) IS YOUR BRAND OUTDATED?
Yep, it happens! If you last updated your brand many years ago, or maybe when you last did your branding you didn’t think long term… it might be time to rebrand.
Pro Tip: You are not a designer! If you go to a brand designer that is qualified and a professional, then trust them. They are professionals in their industry, just like you are in your own. Take their knowledge and use what they say, that way your brand will be taking a big step forward.
5) IS YOUR BUSINESS BRAND NEW WITH 0-NO CUSTOM BRANDING?
Even if you have a brand new business, you need to spend time on your branding. You want to get started on the right food in your business, and make sure your time and energy are being used wisely.
